Storm Heart (second choice) looks in pole position with the season he's having and he was unfortunate not to have had a bigger say in the 2m5f handicap at Cheltenham last month, in which The Yellow Clay was still travelling with some purpose when departing three out. However, KAWABOOMGA's novice form was very eyecatching, and so too was his fourth behind Storm Heart at Gowran when he was returning from a year on the sidelines. Glen Kiln will give his backers a run for their money.[Alistair Jones] Show less
Spotlight: Smart novice who wasn't beaten far by Kopek Des Bordes in a maiden before beating the smart William Munny next time out (on soft); finished behind Storm Heart and Farren Glory in the Grade 3 Red Mills at Gowran (heavy) but ran well after a long absence and he should be considerably sharper here; 3lb better off with Storm Heart.
Spotlight: Triumph favourite two years ago (finished fifth); very lightly raced in the meantime and firmly on an upward curve in winning twice on heavy ground (including a Grade 3) before an admirable third in the 2m5f handicap at Cheltenham (good to soft) where he would have been closer but for hitting two out; top connections haven't got to the bottom of him yet; clear claims.
Spotlight: High class novice last season who was second to The New Lion in the 2m5f Grade 1 at Cheltenham; later suffered a heavy fall at Punchestown; this campaign hasn't really got off the ground and departed too far out (three from home) in the 2m5f handicap at the Festival (Storm Heart third) to know how he would have fared, though was going well enough at the time; wouldn't be a surprise to see him get his career back on track.
Spotlight: Better than ever this season and has contested two Grade 1s; appreciated the drop in class when making all in a Grade 3 at Naas (2m, heavy) and this 7yo is a good bet to give his running (stays this far); very sound jumper.
Spotlight: Supreme winner two seasons ago; 0-7 in the meantime and has been chasing, last time beaten the thick end of 20l when one of the favourites for the 2m4f handicap at Cheltenham; if this return to hurdling and the first-time cheekpieces float his boat, then he might not be far away.
Spotlight: Admirably consistent handicapper who didn't run too badly when midfield in the County Hurdle last month; however, this is a step up the ladder for him and regular rider Jack Kennedy evidently prefers the chances of The Yellow Clay.
Spotlight: Got his career back on track on returning to hurdles at Thurles (2m7f, soft to heavy), but that was still beneath his peak form and Paul Townend deserts him for Storm Heart.
Spotlight: Grade 1-winning novice and won over fences last season; hasn't really reached the heights he once promised and was beaten in races won by Glen Kiln and Storm Heart before pulling up in the 2m5f handicap at Cheltenham when tried in cheekpieces (retained).
Spotlight: Won this race two years ago and returns on the back of finishing second in the Grade 2 National Spirit at Fontwell, a race he'd won twice before; however, he's well into the veteran stage and looks vulnerable.
Spotlight: Doubled her tally under rules when emerging from off the pace to narrowly win the Grade 3 Quevega at Punchestown (2m4f, soft); this is appreciably more demanding against male opposition and has her work cut out at the weights.
